Central Isabela Christian Academy (CICA)
In January 1986, The Aparri Christian publication featured an article titled “Opportunity Knocks Again!” A new town was being developed in central Isabela province—strategically located between the mission’s first two high schools. Around that time, Mr. Anza, director of a large public electric cooperative in the region, approached Lloyd Selby with an offer: he would donate approximately 10 acres of land if the mission would commit to starting a new Christian high school there—and begin classes that same year.
Once again, Charles and Lloyd stepped forward in faith, seizing the opportunity.
The mission purchased additional land to expand the site, and, once again, God stirred the hearts of supporters in the U.S. Generous gifts poured in, supplying everything needed to bring the vision to life. Construction began under Lloyd’s guidance, and by June 1986, Central Isabela Christian Academy (CICA) opened its doors to students.
In the years since that first day of class, CICA has graduated 2,555 students. Of those, 1,816 came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and were baptized. Through the school’s ongoing outreach, many of the students’ families and friends have also embraced the Gospel, and three new churches have been planted in the surrounding region.
Twenty-one graduates have entered full- or part-time ministry, with twelve attending or completing Bible college. Countless others have gone on to become influential leaders in their churches, communities, professions, and families—bringing a strong Biblical foundation to every corner of Philippine society and beyond. Wherever they live, they strengthen the local church as committed members and faithful leaders.
